Scunthorpe have signed Leon Clarke on a three-month loan deal from Championship side Charlton, with the deal going through on Saturday morning.
The 27-year-old will stay at Glanford Park until early December and goes straight into the squad to face Sheffield United on Saturday, though the Addicks have a 28-day recall clause.
Clarke becomes the second signing of the day for Alan Knill, who earlier brought in Karl Hawley on a free transfer.
Hawley had been without a club since leaving Notts County at the end of last season and has signed until January.
His most successful spell was at Carlisle where he scored 47 goals in 118 league games.
