Jason Shackell has already had a positive impact on the Burnley squad according to boss Eddie Howe.
Shackell joined the Clarets from Derby in the summer and was handed the captain's armband at Turf Moor.
The centre-back returns to Pride Park this weekend and Howe is seeking further improvement from himself and the Clarets' other close-season recruits as they chase a first away win this term.
"He's brought everything that we wanted into the group," said the former Bournemouth chief.
"It's not just him making himself very vocal in the side, Brian Stock is that type as well.
"We have added a bit of experience and leadership into the group.
"We're only six games in and we're trying to remind ourselves that it's still early days for these players that we brought in over the summer.
"I think we're still yet to see the very best but I'm sure we will."
