Ian Holloway has praised Simon Grayson for the work he did in starting Blackpool's journey to the Barclays Premier League.
Grayson guided the Seasiders to promotion from npower League One in 2007, and returns to Bloomfield Road for the first time since leaving the club with his Huddersfield side on Monday night.
Holloway was Grayson's permanent replacement as the Tangerines boss, and has thanked the Yorkshireman for the role he played in starting the club's rise up the league.
Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette: "The groundwork he put in gave me a fantastic base to keep moving forward.
"I've done a couple of events with Simon and he's a fantastic fella. The staff who were here when he was the manager speak very highly of him.
"Simon did brilliantly to get them up and he knows a good player when he sees one."
