Barmby settles issues with Tigers

14 September 2012

Hull have announced they have "resolved all issues" with Nick Barmby over the former manager's controversial sacking in May.

Barmby, 38, who succeeded Nigel Pearson as boss of his hometown club in November last year, was first suspended and then had his contract terminated following comments made to the media about Hull's transfer policy.

A club statement read: "Nick accepts that his comments could have been misconstrued. The club now accepts that Nick Barmby did not in any of his interviews with the media have any intention of disparaging the club or its owners."

Barmby appealed against the original decision, but it was upheld by his employers before Steve Bruce was appointed as new manager in June.

Hull's former head of football operations Adam Pearson was also sacked over the incident, but his consultancy role was terminated "without notice and without compensation".
