International appearances for Watford duo Nyron Nosworthy and Cristian Battocchio have edged both players closer to a first-team return from injury, according to manager Gianfranco Zola.
Nosworthy has missed the Hornets' previous three games, but played twice for Jamaica during the international break, scoring his first international goal in the victory against Antigua and Barbuda, while Battocchio appeared for Italy Under-20s.
Zola was pleased to see both players back in action, but Nosworthy's fitness is set to be assessed ahead of the weekend's game against Peterborough.
Zola told the Watford Observer: "I need to see his (Nosworthy's) condition.
"It's good because Nyron was out for three games and needed to get back and also Cristian.
"The fact that they went and played for their international team has helped them, although for Nyron obviously he's played two games away, has got a long journey back, but for Christian Battocchio it's been very good."
