Bournemouth have recalled striker Wes Thomas from his loan spell at south-coast neighbours Portsmouth.
Thomas joined Pompey on loan before Eddie Howe took charge of his second managerial spell at Dean Court and the frontman has enjoyed a successful stint at Fratton Park, scoring three goals in six games during his month-long stay.
Thomas' agreement was due to expire after this weekend but with Portsmouth not playing until Monday night's League One clash at Sheffield United, Howe has wasted little time recalling the 25-year-old.
Howe had already hinted earlier this week that an extension to Thomas' stay with Portsmouth was unlikely, while Pompey counterpart Michael Appleton was understood to be keen to hang on to the forward's services.
But he must now make alternative plans for the trip to the high-flying Blades.
