Mitchell eyes someone between jobs

9 October 2012

Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell is unlikely to pursue a manager employed by another club as he looks for a successor to Paul Groves.

Bournemouth have been linked with a move for MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, and an attempt to lure manager Eddie Howe, currently in charge at npower Championship club Burnley, back to the south coast.

However, Mitchell told the club's official website: "The likelihood is that we will pursue the best possibility of somebody that is between jobs rather than employed."

He added: "There are lots of people out there who are looking at the job and have shown a desire to come and work at Bournemouth, but it has to suit our budget and it has to suit our expectations of where we want to go.

"We have got to do our best to find the right person whilst we have got this break in jobs, and you would like to think we will have an answer this week or certainly early next week. We don't want to go any further into the season without having a settled manager."
