Mingoia on his toes

12 October 2012

On-loan midfielder Piero Mingoia said Accrington must be on their guard when they travel to Torquay this weekend.

Stanley lost a dramatic north-west derby 3-2 against Rochdale last weekend, with boss Paul Cook urging greater caution in defence.

And Watford youngster Mingoia echoed the manager's thoughts ahead of the trip to Plainmoor.

"Like every other game in this league, we're expecting a tough game," he told Press Association Sport.

"You don't get anything easy. If you make mistakes, you will get punished.

"So we've got to go there, play properly, play with our guard up and hopefully get a few goals and try not to concede that many."
