Mills disappointed with points haul

1 October 2012

York manager Gary Mills thinks his side could have collected more points from their first nine games in npower League Two.

The Minstermen, back in the Football League after an eight-year absence following promotion in May, secured their third league win of the season - their second on the road - with a 2-0 success at Aldershot on Saturday and are currently 12th in the table with 13 points.

"I don't want to lose any games, but we are one result away from maybe getting back in the play-offs," Mills told Press Association Sport. "We are two points off the play-offs and four points off automatic promotion after nine games.

"Maybe I would have settled for that at the start of the season, but having said that I feel we should have got a couple more points than we have done.

"The points we have got have been well earned. We haven't stolen them or got them from lucky breaks and if we'd have had a little bit more about us in certain games we'd have more than we've got now.

"But we're in a positive place. Everybody has bought into what we're trying to do here and we want to be in that top seven."
