Jewell staying with Ipswich

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell admits his future is still very much in the balance as he prepares to lead his struggling side into the npower Championship clash with former employers Derby at Portman Road.

Jewell said he would consider his future after Saturday's defeat at Hull made it 10 games without a win but vowed to fight on after receiving support from club chairman Marcus Evans.

Jewell said: "It is clear results on the pitch have not been good enough. I can only continue to do my best for this football club to turn things around. That has to happen very quickly, though."

Dougie Freedman could be taking charge of Crystal Palace for the last time for the trip to face Barnsley at Oakwell, after being given permission to open talks about succeeding Owen Coyle at Bolton.

Meanwhile Bolton's caretaker boss Jimmy Phillips has no new injury concerns for the Trotters' trip to Wolves, who welcome Karl Henry back from suspension.

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is keen to strengthen his side despite taking the Foxes to the top of the Championship table with a draw at Birmingham on Saturday.

Ahead of Tuesday's home clash with Brighton, Pearson said: "I'm pleased with the players we have but I'm not ruling out doing any business in both directions."

Craig Bellamy is set to return from his knee injury for the first time since October as Cardiff look to make it six consecutive home wins from the start of the season as they take on Gianfranco Zola's Watford.
