Paul Jewell held talks with Marcus Evans after Ipswich's 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff during which the club's owner gave his full backing to the under-fire manager.
Saturday's loss to the Bluebirds was second-bottom Ipswich's sixth in nine winless matches in all competitions, and left them still searching for their first home win of the season in the npower Championship.
Many supporters are calling for Jewell's sacking but owner Evans appears to be sticking behind his man.
Jewell said: "I had 15 to 20 minutes with Marcus Evans after the game.
"He felt we played well and I've got his full support, which I appreciate."
