Fantasy Football round-up

23 October 2012

It had been a slow start to life in the npower Championship for German striker Nick Proschwitz after he joined Hull City from SC Paderborn 07. That all changed on Saturday however because the 25-year-old came off the bench to guide the Tigers to victory over Ipswich Town with two goals worth six points. Flying winger Ahmed Elmohamady was awarded both assists and four points.

Bristol City striker Steve Davies also scored six points, but his brace wasn't enough to get the better of managerless Bolton Wanderers. The former Derby County front-man put his new side two up inside 21 minutes, only for Chris Eagles to steal the show. Eagles pulled one back 10 minutes later and set up Martin Petrov's 82nd minute winner, scoring five points.

Attacking left-backs Scott Golbourne and Daniel Pudil both scored five points after playing key roles in a pair of 1-0 wins. Golbourne teed up Tomasz Cywka as Barnsley left The Valley victorious, while Matej Vydra scored a last gasp penalty for Watford against Peterborough United after Czech defender Pudil was fouled in the box.

A late Ben Marshall leveller for Leicester City against Birmingham City moved the Foxes into pole position in the npower Championship standings. Cardiff City dropped to second after suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town jumped to third with a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
