League 2 Team of the Week

26 November 2012

Each week the Official Football League website will bring you the Team of the Week. Produced by the Press Association, the Teams of the Week features the eleven top performing players from each division from the weekend's matches.

Kevin Ellison was the star of the show for Morecambe at the weekend as he netted a hat-trick in their 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon, and he deservedly takes his place up front in the npower League 2 Team of the Week.

The striker scored after seven minutes, then extended the lead with 34 minutes on the clock. After Jack Midson pulled one back for the Dons, Ellison rounded of the victory with 10 to play.

Chris McCready was another player to impress for the Shrimps in the victory and he's named at centre-back.

Partnering Ellison up front is Wycombe Wanderers' Matt McClure as he scored his second brace in a week to help the Chairboys to a comfortable 3-0 victory against Burton Albion.

Three midfielders who found the net at the weekend are included in the squad.

Marc Laird scored in Southend United's 3-1 win at home to Rochdale to take a central role, while Jennison Myrie-Williams scored from the spot for Port Vale and Danny Stevens bagged for Torquay United to also be rewarded with a place in the team.

Stevens' goal came in a 2-0 win for the Gulls, away to York City, and it was defender Joe Oastler who scored the other goal. The 22-year-old takes the right-back slot.

Rotherham United's Ben Pringle completes the midfield as he shone for the Millers in their 1-0 away success against Exeter City. The 23-year-old set up the only goal of the game as his corner was headed home by defender Ian Sharps, who is also amongst the XI.

Dagenham and Redbridge kept a clean sheet at home to Fleetwood Town and Femi Ilesanmi impressed in the Daggers' defence.

Cheltenham Town's Scott Brown was also part of a clean sheet, at home to Barnet, and he occupies the place in goal.
