Championship Team of the Week

26 November 2012

Each week the Official Football League website will bring you the Team of the Week. Produced by the Press Association, the Team's of the Week feature the eleven top performing players from each division from the weekend's matches.

Leeds United were the big winners in the npower Championship at the weekend, overcoming leaders Crystal Palace, and they deservedly have two players in the division's Team of the Week.

Luciano Becchio opened the scoring for Neil Warnock's men in the game against the Eagles and he takes his place up top, while Lee Peltier fills the right-back slot after impressing.

Bristol City also picked up a morale-boosting victory, as they overcame Middlesbrough at the Riverside to record their first win in 11 matches. Albert Adomah got the ball rolling for the Robins, finishing from close-range, and he is included in the XI.

Adlene Guedioura and Adam Clayton are two other midfielders who found the back of the net at the weekend to be picked.

Guedioura scored the winner for Nottingham Forest against his former club Wolverhampton Wanderers, while Clayton tucked home a penalty to savage a point for Huddersfield Town at Charlton Athletic.

Completing the four-man midfield is Ipswich Town's Lee Martin, who shone for the Tractor Boys in their 1-1 draw against relegation rivals Peterborough United.

Conor Sammon was the hero for Derby County and he partners Becchio up top. The former Wigan Athletic striker bagged a brace as the Rams triumphed 3-2 against Midlands rivals Birmingham City in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Millwall collected a fifth win in six with a 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers and right-back Adam Smith impressed for the Lions to be named in the squad.

At centre-back, Burnley's Jason Shackell is joined by Leicester City's Danny Drinkwater.

Both players were influential in keeping clean sheets away from home for their respective sides - Burnley's coming against Hull and Leicester's against Sheffield Wednesday - and Drinkwater even got himself on the scoresheet for the Foxes.

Taking the place between the sticks, and completing the npower Championship Team of the Week, is Bolton Wanderers' Adam Bogdan.

The stopper's resilience against Brighton and Hove Albion, including saving a penalty, paid off as the Trotters secured a point at the Amex Stadium through a late David Ngog strike.
