White's warning light over Green

20 August 2012

Leeds summer signing Paul Green could be ruled out for several weeks with a knee injury sustained in the opening-day win over Wolves.

Midfielder Green, a free signing from Derby, has definitely been ruled out of the clash at Blackpool on Tuesday and is waiting to learn the full extent of the injury.

Manager Neil Warnock told the club's official website: "I think he'll struggle. We don't know the extent of it and we're waiting for the results of the scan as we speak.

"I don't think it's going to be very good and we could be losing him for a few weeks if we're lucky."

El Hadji Diouf replaced Green against Wolves and could make his first league start in midfield, while Warnock has no other injury or suspension problems.

Goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, skipper Lee Peltier, fellow defenders Jason Pearce and Sam Byrom, midfielders Rodolph Austin and David Norris and striker Luke Varney all made their league debuts against Wolves and are expected to continue.
