Southend have placed David Martin on the transfer list.
The 27-year-old winger has fallen out of favour at Roots Hall since joining from Derby in January and his manager has now confirmed that other clubs have been notified of his availability.
Martin scored three times in his first 10 appearances for the Blues, but has started just two of their last 13 matches.
Sturrock told the Echo: "I had a full and frank discussion with David about things and he wants to be playing first team football so we've made clubs aware of his availability.
"His name has been circulated and if he can sort something out for himself then we won't stand in his way.
"Knowing David I also know he will also remain professional and continue to give 100% for us if he's called upon."
