Capital One Cup Round 3 TV selections confirmed
Following the draw for Round 3 of the Capital One Cup, Manchester United's tie with Newcastle United and Leeds United's match against Everton have both been selected as a featured TV games.
There are five all-Premier League fixtures in Round 3 but the Red Devils' match with Alan Pardew's Magpies at 7.45pm on Wednesday 26th September is the pick of the round.
Sir Alex Ferguson's men have won the competition four times, whilst Newcastle will be hoping to lift the trophy for the first time in their history this season.
In the other live TV game, Neil Warnock's Leeds are up against David Moyes' Everton on Tuesday 25th September at 7.45pm.
To make the Third Round, Warnock's men have overcome Shrewsbury Town 4-0 and Oxford United 3-0.
The npower Championship club has a rich history in the competition, lifting the prestigious trophy in 1968, and were also named as runners-up in 1996, losing 3-0 to Aston Villa.
Premier League Everton, meanwhile, eased into Round 3 with a convincing 5-0 victory against Leyton Orient in the Second Round.
The Toffees have never won the Capital One Cup but they have made the final on two occasions, only to come up short. In 1977 they to lost out to Aston Villa and, in 1984, lost to rivals Liverpool.
The last time Leeds and Everton met was back in April 2004, when both sides were in the top flight, and it ended all-square at 1-1.
