Blackburn midfielder David Dunn is looking forward to lining up on the same side as Danny Murphy this term.
During his long top-flight career Dunn has enjoyed many tussles against former Liverpool, Tottenham and Fulham playmaker Murphy, who swapped Craven Cottage for Ewood Park earlier this summer.
"I've known Murphy for a long time now so hopefully he can produce what he's done over his career at Blackburn and I'm sure the fans will look forward to seeing him play," said Dunn.
Having spent most of their time as professionals in the Premier League, Murphy and Dunn face a different challenge in trying to secure an immediate escape from the npower Championship for Steve Kean's side this term and the Rovers stalwart is under no illusions about the task ahead.
"It's a hard league to get out of this league, make no mistake," Dunn added. "I've been in it a couple of times and we're going to have every team coming to Ewood Park being right against us.
"It's going to be different, it's going to be a difficult league to get out of, but if we can show our quality then I'm sure we can bounce straight back."
