One of the more experienced officials in the EFL, Linington first became an EFL referee in 2008
In 2009/10 he was appointed as the Fourth Official to the FA Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium, and after just two weeks returned to referee the League Two Play-Off Final between Dagenham and Redbridge and Rotherham United.
