Youth Alliance League

The EFL Youth Alliance was formed in the 1998/99 season following the creation of the Academy structure under the Charter for Quality and the League has continued following the introduction of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) in 2012.

The Competition comprises of the Under 18 sides from the Academy category 3 and category 4 Academy Clubs of the EFL and Premier League along with selected National League Clubs. The competition is divided into four Regional Conferences

The league season is complemented by a keenly contested cup competition. This is initially formatted on a north/south basis with the respective winners of each section meeting in the Youth Alliance Cup Final at an EFL stadium.

The Alliance receives coverage on the EFL website and a weekly Newsletter is distributed to all clubs, local media and other interested parties. Clubs also cover their own progress on their respective websites and many have significant coverage in their matchday programme and magazines.
