Two nights, three divisions, and 25 fixtures - more midweek action is upon us in the EFL.

Here's what's coming up...

West London double-header

There are just two Sky Bet Championship fixtures in midweek, and one of those presents Fulham with the chance to move into the Play-Off places.

The Cottagers are two points behind Sheffield Wednesday ahead of their game in hand, but they come up against a Blackburn Rovers side unbeaten in five matches under Tony Mowbray.

Brentford host struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers in the night's other fixture.

Bristol Rovers on cloud nine

Bristol Rovers' weekend win over Southend United brought them level on points with the Shrimpers and sees them just four points adrift of the Play-Off places.

The 2-0 success was the ninth consecutive unbeaten game for the Gas, though that run did include six straight draws. Their next test is an away trip to Bury, who sit three points above the bottom four.

On the subject of nine-game runs, Scunthorpe United and Rochdale have both failed to win during that stretch of fixtures. The pair meet at Glanford Park.

Delights under the lights for Bolton

Bolton Wanderers travel to Gillingham for their ninth evening kick-off of the Sky Bet League One campaign, and they've thoroughly enjoyed their fixtures under the lights so far.

The Trotters have won six, drawn one and lost one of their previous midweek outings, and will be in buoyant mood after ending the 18-match unbeaten run of promotion rivals Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

Dependent on results, Phil Parkinson's men could find themselves in the automatic spots by the end of the night.

Around the grounds

AFC Wimbledon have visited stadiummk four times in four different competitions, but tonight sees them host Milton Keynes Dons for the first time in their history.

Coventry City, Chesterfield and Swindon Town are all in the bottom four and are all at home, welcoming Southend United, Peterborough United and Sheffield United respectively. The other side in the bottom four, Port Vale, make the visit to Northampton Town.

Elsewhere, Fleetwood Town travel to Walsall as they look to bounce back from their weekend loss to Bolton.

Collapse in Cumbria?

Carlisle United went 15 games unbeaten at the start of the season, which was the catalyst for the club's promotion push.

The Cumbrians have been a regular fixture in the top three throughout the season but, after suffering just four defeats in 32 games, they have doubled that tally in their last four, and slipped to fifth as a result.

Staff and the squad have met to discuss the recent form, and are hoping that they will get back to their best sooner rather than later, with assistant boss Colin West telling carlisleunited.co.uk: “Every game we play from now until the end of the season is a big one.

“We’re into the business side of it and what we’ll be looking for from the Luton game is a result. It doesn’t matter how we get it, we just need to do it and then kick off from there.”

Newport County up for the battle

"We're not going down without a fight, not on my watch."

They are the words of Newport County's caretaker boss Michael Flynn, and those words rang true as he watched his side come from behind to defeat Crewe Alexandra in his first game in charge.

The Exiles are on the road again tonight, travelling to a Morecambe side who have leaked six goals in their last two outings. The Welsh outfit are nine points adrift of safety, but still believe they can achieve the great escape with 33 points still available.

Around the grounds

League leaders Doncaster Rovers host Notts County, and third-placed Portsmouth are also at home, welcoming Grimsby Town to Fratton Park.

Plymouth Argyle haven't enjoyed their midweek outings recently, and travel to a Wycombe Wanderers side three points outside of the Play-Off positions. Colchester United and Mansfield Town are another two sides on the fringes of the top seven, and they go head-to-head in Essex.

Stevenage have won eight of their last nine games and are away at Blackpool, while at the other end, Leyton Orient travel to an Accrington Stanley side unbeaten in six in their bid for survival. Barnet and Yeovil Town complete the Matchday 37 schedule on Wednesday night.
